So currently I am using an iphone 4 with 2gb date per month. I am planning on using my relatives upgrade for the Iphone 5. She does not have an iphone and we are not in the same family plan. My question is that will I be able to keep my 2gb/month or will i have to get the new shared voice and data plan?

I'm going to assume you're on Verizon. Verizon only forces you onto a share everything plan if you upgrade using the subsidized price.

I upgraded using the subsidized price. We have 3 phones and they did not force me into a share plan.

D'oh you're right. I had a brain fart when writing that reply. They only force you to the share everything plan if you're on an unlimited data plan. If you're on the tiered data plan, you can upgrade with the subsidized price without switching to a share everything plan. My apologies.

That makes sense now. At least they are consistent!
