I have a 3g on 3.1.2

Using Vodaphone in India

If I turn 3G on - I lose my Vodaphone service. I want to start using the edge dataplan - how do I do so? Can I use the Vodaphone data plan if 3G is off?

If your carrier only supports Edge and not 3G then you should keep 3G off permanently. Yes you can use a vodaphone edge plan with 3G off. Keeping 3G on if you have no service just waste your battery.
