My ancient G5 imac finally bit the dust this summer, and nobody can resurrect it. I need to retrieve the data from its orignial hard drive and from an external hard drive on which I have stored 10,000 photos.
My local repairman (who is not a mac specialist) says both drives are working but that he cannot retrieve the data and photos into Windows. For complicated reasons I need to be able to use the photos especially on a Windows-based machine. Does anyone know how I can get the stuff off the old drives in a format Windows will read?

If you have another external drive, format that drive to FAT32. Both Mac and PC can read & write in that format.
