Data transfer rate of 1m Apple USB-C Charge Cable?

The data transfer rate on with the 1m charge cable is really slow even though it is claimed to be usb 3.1 speed. It feels like 480mbps when transferring. What is the real speed as apple obfuscates this info on their site and I had to find this claimed data speed on a third-party site.

Macs ports are Thunderbolt 4 now why would one use old USB C spec on 40Mbs ports!

The apple USB charge cables are USB 2 data rates, just like most other USB C charge cables only. So 480 is about right
