Database management software

I need software that can manage contacts and export excel files for doing mass emails. its has to be able to keep all of the information about the contacts and allow me to remove contacts by list. (ie once I send out a mass email if 500 names are bad I can just submit this list to the software and remove those contacts.)

There's FileMaker Pro which is the major application in this department, though it may be over-kill for your needs.

I think Libra Office may have a small DB program in their suite as well.

I was able to use the sorting features in http://directmailmac.com/ for free. this worked great!
