Datamem.com sells Mac Pro RAM in two varieties. One of their salemen summed it up for me; the cheaper stuff is Intel-approved (heat sinks) and the more expensive but identically-sized stuff is Apple-approved (heat spreaders). For a 2x2GB kit, the difference is about $120. Has anyone here had any issues with the cheaper variety?

Its probably only the heat sink that is the major difference. The heat sink in the apple aproved version is the same apple ship in their machines.
The memory is probably exactly the same spec.
