I am using top quality Datawrite titanium DVD-R in my 2 month old iMac.

The iMac is running ....OS X (10.6.8)

I write data to these, using toast 11 titanium.

When hitting BURN, With the DVD in the drive, nothing much happens, but after a few minutes the hardware just ejects the disc & says "insert a writable disc". If I just reinsert it, it MAY write, maybe not. Put another (disc) in it may or may not work, eventually it will right and then verifies ok. After about 50 writes, I have about 10 discs that refuse to write. I do not think that the discs are faulty for one minute.

The disc supplier, recons that the hardware beads a firmware update. I have found out that the writer is a ???. I have googled that, but cannot find anything sensible.

I bought 600 of these discs, and do not want to send them back! I have just tried to write a disc & reinserted the same disc twice, on 2 discs but finally working on the third disc. I write up to 25 DVDs per day, so it’s a pain in the arse. I have not uninstalled toast & reinstalled as yet, as I am not convinced that will work.

Any help much appreciated.
