So I uploaded my app and set an Availability Date in the Future (on the 21st), so that I could coordinate marketing and PR efforts.

The app got approved on the 16th.

So Date Released on the app is the 16th. However when the app became available on the 21st (like it supposed to), the date released didn't change, so when the app came out it never got to the first page of the NEW section, it burried underneath the other apps on later pages....

WTF?

What is the point of Available Date that Apple lets you set if it wont get on the NEW list??

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does this mean that if you want your app to be in the NEW section, you cannot control when it releases, just release when it's ready by apple?

What about all those developers who say things like "You should release your app on a Thursday"....How the hell can you control when to release if you want ot be in the New section?

Very confused and frustrated...
