iPod touch date/time on touch

every once in awhile the date and time completely change to something random. anyone else having this problem or know why its happening?

I had that happen once. I assumed it happened after my iPod crashed, but I cannot confirm that because I did not think to check the date and time immediately after it recovered. I became aware of the change later.

My 1st gen nano did that check your computers date and time aswell as your iPods time zone.

I have a week 36 16GB and it's already slated for replacement because it has 5 stuck-on green pixels, but about half the time I sync it with my laptop, as soon as they're connected together via sync cable, the Touch's date and time change to random values and goes from my preferred 24-hour time to AM/PM. It doesn't seem to matter whether the Touch is in sleep mode or is already on. I'm hoping my incoming replacement won't exhibit this behavior.
