O Donny Boy
Hi there

Recently installed Dave 4.1 under Panther [10.3.1 and it's the correct version of Dave for it as well!] the install went fine (just as it did under Jaguar) until I re-booted the machine.

Upon re-starting a log-on screen is now presented to me insisting I enter a password (obviously!) - the big deal here is that I've NEVER had a password allocated to this machine!?

So hiting the enter key or clicking the log-on button results in the annoying "shaking" log-on dialog-box informaing me of a big "no, no"!!

Help! I'm suck... big time... fortunately the machine in question has a Classic partition so at least I'm able to boot into and use the machine for something!

I can see a re-install of Panther on the horizon!

Thanks in advance
;)

I think I've found the answer over at apple.com...

4. I forgot my password.

If you forget your password for your computer, insert the Mac OS X CD and restart your computer while holding down the C key on the keyboard. When the Installer appears, choose Reset Password from the Installer menu and follow the onscreen instructions.

... problem is, I've left my Panther install disks back at home! Oh well, it'll have to wait until tomorrow!!
