Today I encountered a data loss problem with my Mac Mini's copy of Day One.

I'd entered a journal then I turned the Mac off. Later on, when I went back to it, I got a message saying that Dropbox was disconnected from Day One. I had to re-establish the sync link with it.

Since then most of the data is missing. I uninstalled Day One, reinstalled it, no difference.

I noticed that what entries are still there go back some time. Mostly May, and a few in April and March.

Nothing for July, August or September is there.

I checked my iPad and iPhone. The data there is intact.

Just wondering if anyone here has seen this and if so, what did you do to fix it and to restore the data?

Thanks.

I don't know what caused my Day One data to disappear, but I managed to recover it via a long winded restoration process (there's a backup function but no actual restore function) after following the instructions on Day One's Support website.

Thankfully whatever caused this didn't also corrupt my iOS devices' data.
