Day One, etc. vs blogging platforms like Wordpress with privacy settings

Hello,

I was curious: what are the advantages to using an app like Day One vs using a blogging platform like Wordpress (with privacy settings) for journaling? What prompted you to go the Day One (or other journal app) route?
