Greetings,

Since I tried to hijack another thread regarding this, I thought I would start a new thread with the discussion on distributed computing in 2024 (and beyond).

I have the following systems, OS, DC software, core counts, CPU temperature range, and any fan modifications. If you are doing the same in 2024 and would like a distraction from the everyday, please join me in the discussion.

  • 2023 M2 Pro mini, macOS Sonoma, Folding@home, 4 cores, 46°C - 76°C, and Macs Fan Control set to 3000 rpm with the SPEED mac mini cooling base.
  • 2013 Mac Pro, openSUSE Tumbleweed, BOINC, 6 cores, 57°C - 66°C, default fan settings.
