On The Nickel, over there....
So I was having problems booting up my 2007 24", Al iMac running SL.
I partitioned its hard drive and did a Time Machine restore on the second partition. The iMac is working fine now, but I would like to get rid of the empty partition and revert it back so that the HD is one big size again. Is there a way to de-partition the hard drive?

Removing a Partition
If you decide you don’t need a partition anymore, you can remove it.

Simply select it in the Volume Scheme list (Figure 9) and click the – button under the list. You can then resize the remaining volume to take up the lost space. When you click Apply and confirm the change, the partition you deleted is removed -- along with all the data on it.

Hope that helps. All you need is Disk Utility.

I know gparted can also do non-destructive partitioning. I've used it before on my mac, but it's been a while. You'll definitely want to find some good instructions to make sure you don't mess anything up. And you'll want to make a good clone externally if possible first (just in case).
