Dead '06 Macbook Pro Replacement Battery

My macbook pro is about 4 years old ('06)

I replaced the battery during the battery exchange program a couple years ago and got a new one.

Now that battery is dead. OSX says the battery will not hold a charge and shows the battery with a big X through it.

What should I do? Can I take it to the Apple store and get a new battery for free or will I have to pay out of pocket for one? Any suggestions?
