My mom spilled (a lot) of water on her 2015 MBP. Apple reviewed it and quoted the repair over 1k, so we bought an M1 replacement.

I pulled the 500gb SSD out of the old machine and was going to recycle it at apple. My wife suggested I inquire if any other parts are worth selling; I didn't think so - but could anyone offer an opinion? Thank you so much.

Just put it on eBay. With the condition of parts or repair only. Mention water damage, doesn’t work and SSD removed. Take good pictures. You’ll get something out of it.

Here's what I would do: take it apart, clean all affected areas with pure isopropyl alcohol, allow, it to dry for a few days, reassemble, and see it any of the parts work.

I have done the with a few Pros and Airs I purchased for a low price and wound up with almost fully-functional MacBooks.
