About 7-8 days ago I was wearing my AW Series 6 which I've had for just over 2 years when the screen blacked out. I didn't think the battery should have been dead yet, but set it on the charger anyway. Never recovered. It cycled between the green "Snake mode" and red, and sometimes got very warm. But could never get it to actually work. Left it off the charger for 2 days until it was definitely completely dead, put it back on, tried 2 different chargers, no dice.

Went to Apple store and since I'm well out of warranty, the only thing they said they could do is send it out for repair, but I'd have to pre-authorize the flat amount of $299, which (obviously) isn't a good idea as the Series 7 is available from Costco for $269.

Anyone ever have anything like this happen? I've pretty much lost hope of reviving it now, but maybe there's some trick I don't know about. If I can't fix it, it would be nice to at least get a few bucks for it on eBay as a "for parts/repair" but since I can't properly factory reset it, I'm not sure if I'd be treading into risky territory there.

Just remove it from your iCloud account (iPhone or Mac System Settings) and FindMy - that will unlink it so no worries.

AW 6 started calling SOS while swimming in the pool.
When I came out, it stuck on the reboot cycle. I can't turn it on anymore, even with a force reset (pressing both buttons until the Apple logo lights up). Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
