My iBook of six years gave up the ghost last week :( It's so old, I can't see any point in getting it fixed. Just wondering if it's worth selling some of the parts on eBay or the like? Airport Extreme card, battery, adapter etc.

Thanks

That's what I did when I had older computers die on me—I sold the working parts locally on Craigslist. So far, I've sold a power adapter and two AirPort cards.

I take it this is an iBook G4? Try applying pressure to the bottom near the battery release. Be gentle yet firm. Turn it back over and press the power button. See if it works then.

This was the problem with the iBook G4s. It won't work for ever as it will eventually fail again. This should give you enough time to recover all of your data without taking the iBook apart to remove your HDD.
