Hi everyone,

Unplugged my iPhone 6s this morning once it was at 100%, less than an hour later the phone is totally dead. Nothing on screen at all, iTunes won't recognise it and hard reset does nothing.

My serial no. is in the battery replacement program for unexpected shutdown issues, but I hadn't experienced issues up until now so had held off on taking it in.

So I guess my question here is this;
Is this the typical symptom/behaviour of an iPhone affected by the battery shutdown issue or is this another issue entirely and I'm likely all outta luck?

I do have an appointment booked with an Apple authorised service centre this afternoon but I'd love to know going in if this should be covered under the replacement program.

EDIT: I'm assuming its a different issue as it won't turn back on :(

Thanks again :)

I don't know if it is or is not but play dumb and keep emphasizing that your phone will shut down even after full charged.

But they'll run a diagnostic at the store anyone. Likely since your phone serial is on the list they will replace your battery.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated :)

They just put it through as a battery replacement under the unexpected shutdown program, only downside is they are waiting on Apple to send them batteries so have to wait a few days.

Another update but not a good one! Got a surprise phone call this morning, they had sent the phone to the Apple service centre so I didn't have to wait until they received new batteries (good service!) but heard back from Apple that it's not the battery that's stopping it turning on so isn't covered under the replacement program.

They had me email my invoice on (bought from Apple) and with having never been dropped or exposed to water they are going to push Apple for replacement under UK consumer law.

Would appreciate input from anyone who's been in this position how it turned out for you.

Anyway thanks again and will update when I hear back.
