I would say call apple make your appointment and get your new(well reberbished anyway) iPhone. Seems pretty cut an dry to me you should'nt have any problem as long as its not hacked or unlocked.

Have you tried a simple firmware restore via iTunes. The phone seems to be missing a baseband (modem) firmware

Yeah, I tired it all.

She's fried. It's headed back to Apple tomorrow, and they are sending me a loner. It was actually nice, no hoops to jump through, no run around. I told the girl what I saw on the screen, and she told me to send it in.

Impressive, if the whole loner/return process goes smoothly.

do you have an apple store near you. If you take to an apple store they would give you a new one right away.

Unfortunately, no - the closest store is 4 hours away. The loner phone came in today though, so I'm good to go in less that 18 hours.
