dead memory slot

07 blackmac. 1 of the memory slots is flakey and computer will not boot unless memory is removed. found local tech who said he could fix it for $100 or so. what do you think he will do to fix it? does it involve changing actual memory slot? or cleaning it? any ideas on what a $100 repair would involve?

If he has the ability to fix the machine for 100.00 sounds like a good deal.

Other than that I would talk to apple tech support if under warranty otherwise its a 700+ job through apple.
