Dead or Stuck Pixels?

I have a 2012 Retina MacBook Pro with a few dead or stuck pixels. They're really only visible on a black screen but wondering if they're truly dead. If they're stuck, there are videos that attempt to remove them (to no success so far) but want to be sure. Picture is attached. Only the brighter "dots" are the ones in question, the rest is dust.

Ideas, anyone? No luck in using videos but don't feel like dishing out $500 for an issue that can possibly be fixed myself.
