Has anyone else noticed dead pixel(s) in photos or videos shot with their iphone 4? I wanted to see how well my iPhone 4 performs when recording HD video in low-light conditions, so I filmed several songs at a Kings of Leon concert this past Saturday night. I was quite impressed with the video and audio quality playing the videos back on my iPhone. But it wasn't until I uploaded the videos to YouTube and played them back on my PC that I noticed a dead pixel in the same spot in every video recorded. You can easily see the white dot in the upper right quadrant at the beginning of this video shot Saturday night, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcCxedJwmVM
My first thought was I had a speck of dust on the back plastic lens cover. So yesterday I wiped the lens cover with a lens cleaning cloth and shot some test video in the dark. The dead pixel is still there. I'm also seeing the white dot in photos taken in low-light. Either the photo/video sensor in my iphone has a defect causing the dead pixel, or perhaps a tiny speck of factory dust got onto the sensor during manfacturing. I haven't yet called Apple Tech support. I'm hoping they'll let me replace my iPhone 4. It's not a major deal if they won't replace the phone over this issue as the deal pixel will be hard to notice in the majority of photos and videos shot in normal light.
