iPad mini Dead Pixel - Maybe a saving grace

I got my iPad Mini today, and found a dead pixel. I have returned it and got a refund. But before I found this, I felt it was sluggish/jerky.

When I scrolled slowly through my list of apps to download, it jerked badly.

I don't think I am going to buy a replacement. Might upgrade to a iPhone 5 or wait for next gen.
