I bought the brand new MBP last night at the Apple store and as soon as I booted it up I noticed a dead pixel off to the left of the screen. I thought I could ignore it but it's really really annoying. Considering the fact that I just bought the machine last night do you think I'm being to picky taking it back and asking for an exchange for the same machine? I just think if I'm going to pay $2000 for a machine that everything should be 100% right out of the box. Has anyone had success in exchanging a new machine that had dead pixels?

Thanks.

Yep shouldn't be a problem. I would schedule an appointment and get it exchanged. If you paid that much for a laptop you should be happy with it.
