Damn.... I knew it would happen one day.
It's so hot right now it Poland and my TC 1st gen was laying on the floor. I was having 2 TB Seagate Constellation ES drive instead of stock 500 GB. Backups were made only a few minutes per day.
Then finally I found all my network is down. I've rebooted the Mac Pro, but was still down. Then I found my TC is not working at all, no power, LED etc.
It was very, very hot. So I've waited several hours and plugged it again, no power :/
Removed the drive from it, and it's ok, all data is there
I found my TC is from the faulty batch, the serial is XX808XX.
There are some sellers on eBay that are selling power supply for this model. Will this help me bringing my TC to life ?
I think there is no point to upgrade to some newer models. I don't use wi-fi at all, but I use Gigabit Ethernet a lot + USB network printer + 2 TB network drive for backups. It was a bit slow when copying data via Ethernet - up to 200 Mbps. Are these newer models a bit faster ?
