I have a 15" MacBook Pro from Late '07 - Early '08 I bought it from a PC repair shop. The "system board" was completely replaced and I purchased it for the repair price only. The shop gave me a 30-day warranty for the "system board" and now I think one of the USB ports is dead. I'm able to plug in external hard drives and flash drives and the port is able to deliver power, although its quite dodgy at first and then in a little bit it delivers sustained power to the drive but the drives never mount on the desktop.

I checked the System Profiler but I can't tell what is what to be absolutely honest. There are 7 usb hubs listed in my profiler. Here's how they're listed:

My Macbook Pro has 2 USB Ports, one firewire 400 and 800 port, Ethernet port and a DVI port. I can't tell which USB bus listed above (that isn't already spoken for) represents the supposedly troubled usb port or if its even represented at all.
