Dead USB ports on iBook G4

For what seems like no reason, the USB ports on my iBook no longer work, I've tried a range of devices that work on other computers, but no luck with the iBook.

I've tried:

- a new user
- Resetting PMU
- Zapping the PRAM
- resetting open Firmware
- Trashing the preferences.

but no luck. Everything else (including the Firewire ports) work fine. Any other ideas? I'm going to remove the case and take a look at the logic board (I've done it before) and then try a clean install of Tiger...
