I've never upgraded t o a better iPhone so I'm a little scared to buy an iPhone 4. Especially when it says $199.99... plus a two-year contract. So do I have to cancel my current contract to buy the iPhone 4 at $199.99?

No. Upgrade means your current contract will be gone as you agree to another two year deal to get the phone at the discount price. Basically, your contact is starting over. Make sure you are able to upgrade though because not everyone will get the $199 price. *639# to see.

So I take it you currently own the 1st gen?
If so, no you don't have to cancel your contract. . .Once you go in to upgrade (Let say launch day) Your contract will extend and your new contract date ends June 24th 2012

upgrade using wife's phone #, she is eligible

OK, sweet. If I had to cancel my contract, that would be a deal-breaker. :D Thanks!

upgrading using my wife's upgrade, order from apple with her #, then when phone comes, how to switch to my phone #????
