Amazon has dropped the price of the 2021 32GB Apple TV 4K, available for $159.99, down from $179.00. This discount will be seen after a $10 coupon is automatically applied at the checkout screen.

The Apple TV 4K is available for the usual free Prime shipping options, and it's in stock and ready to ship today. Amazon's sale is a solid second-best price on this Apple TV 4K, coming about $10 behind the record low price we saw over the holidays.

Final price includes $10 taken off at checkout.

You can also get the 64GB Apple TV 4K for $189.98, down from $199.00. We've seen this Apple TV 4K discounted by an additional $10, so this sale is a second-best price. This model is also sold by Amazon, and it's in stock and ready to ship today.

Although the sales on these Apple TV models aren't particularly steep, they are the best offers around and worth checking out if you're still on the market for the newest Apple TV 4K. You can keep an eye out on Apple TV deals in our Best Apple TV 4K Deals guide.

I jumped on a Costco deal a few months ago to replace my 3 HD models. The remote is much improved, and the interface is much smoother. I recommend if anyone is on the fence. (still think it's overpriced though!)

I wish Apple TV would come in an HDMI stick form-factor. That's what keeps me tied to Roku since my TV is wall mounted above a sofa and I have zero room for anything else.

I'm about to replace my current 4K model just to get that sweet, sweet Wi-Fi 6 in hopes that it improves my Steam Link experience.

Hmm...

There are Apple TV mounts that attach to the back of TVs for $10. Also Velcro strips.
I considered this approach. I have a Steamlink is velcro'd to the back, and the OTA antenna (not that we ever use it). The Apple TV is a bit of a chunkyboy though, more that twice as tall as the Steamlink. I'm not sure it would fit flush to the wall with my setup.

The main appeal for me with AppleTV is AirPlay 2, most TV manufacturers have it built-in so what exactly is the purpose of this overpriced hardware. Compared to GoogleTV 2.0/AndroidTV this thing is closed and restricted even if Apple licensed TVOS to other TV manufacturers without opening it up it would still suffer from the competition.

The thing that irks me about Google is that most things it does is a “project” and I hope GoogleTV 2.0/AndroidTV is supported and lives a long life.

At present AndroidTV/GoogleTV 2.0 has taken the cake on TV systems. Roku resembles a FisherPrice device with privacy and intrusion issues. Google well you can disable most if not all of it. TizenOS forget about it, WebOS is second to GoogleTV 2.0/AndroidTV.

The built-in apps on my TV are either dog slow or abandoned completely, so this seems like the best way to get streaming services on my television. I'm firmly in the Apple ecosystem and this plays nice with all of their services and devices with no hassle.

I have a Sony Bravia XR and the apps works perfectly well under GoogleTV 2.0. If one is going to pickup a TCL or Hisense what does one expect a sports car for the price of a subcompact entry.

I forgot to mention that one can pickup a greatly capable Shield for the same price if not at a reduced price.

You can use that $19 savings to buy the new $19 Apple cleaning cloth. How convenient

I’m currently looking to go from ATV-3 to the latest hd 32gb version (not really interested in 4K version) here in the UK the cheapest I’ve seen it is £139…..surely I’m not the only one who thinks that’s overpriced.

I’m thinking I will wait till it drops to the £99 price point.

Firestick is great and does the same for 1/4th the price. Apple lost me as a customer for their Apple TV product with this ridiculous price point for it.

I've got a couple Firesticks and a couple Apple TVs. The ATVs run much smoother. I've relegated the Firesticks to travel for hotel tvs.

Thing is it doesn’t s let you resume your subscribed podcasts from where you left off without using the phone….that’s what I like about the apple TV

Do you not have space to just mount it on the wall behind the TV using some sort of Contact? That's what I would do, probably Contact velcro so that, if ever necessary, I can pull it off the wall. Or Contact vecro against the back of the TV.
It's just not that large or heavy (or hot) a box. Honestly, if you have enough to fit a stick, you have enough depth to fit an aTV.

Counterpoint -- delight is worth dollars, and while aTV is not perfect, it's just so much nicer to work with than any alternative.

Even if you don’t have a 4K TV I’d certainly be looking at either of the 4K ATV’s over an HD. They’re just far superior machines and the HD is still running on an A8 which is very old. You can get a good price on a first gen 4K if you look hard enough. Trust me it’s worth it, you don’t want an HD in this day and age.

You can like the firestick but that is a false statement
What part is false? Pricing? that isn't false. Apple TV is like $180? Firestick is anywhere from $20-40 depending on the model you get. So you are right...its more like 1/6th the price, not 1/4th.

Or do you mean my choice of not using the Apple TV because of the cost is false? Because I now have 4 fire sticks and 1 Apple TV that we don't use anymore because guess what, if you want an app you need to spend $180 for the new model.

Or did you mean the Firestick isn't great part is false? Because its much better than the Apple TV.
