I enjoy my pair, but they were gifted..

I'd not pay more than $350 for them

My AirPods Max (pictured in my avatar) have held-up very well over almost 1.5 years. Structurally these things could last another 10 years. I connect the cable to my iPhone for 'lossless' playback.

I am not saying they do "true lossless". I can say it is better than BlueTooth. For example, a nuanced song with many different instruments playing at the same time (timbre is important) can sound a bit muddy with Bluetooth but using the cable the muddiness is gone and the song is truer. This depends on the song and how important it is to differentiate instruments.

We never would be able to convince Apple of that sadly. Still if the Sony WH-1000XM5 can sell for $399. Apple should have listed the AirPods Max at the most at $449.99 not $549.99. Then sales could have made the headphones very competitively priced.

But we shouldn't use the term "lossless" there.

That has a specific meaning and wired AirPods Max usage isn't lossless.

Absolutely not. When it's wired its is very close to true lossless. It also has the added benefit of having the same noise cancellation in wired mode which many other ANC headphones don't handle as well.

It’s a great headphone imo and 449 imo is a great price and should of been it’s normal retail price.

The comment you were replying to was saying that the sound quality on wired mode is much better than on BT, not that the BT on the Max is better than BT on other headphones.
