It's been a few weeks since we last saw a notable discount on the AirPods Max, which happened during Prime Day, but today Amazon has the headphones for $449.99, down from $549.00. This is still one of the best deals we've seen in 2022 on the AirPods Max, and overall it's a second-best price.

Silver, Sky Blue, and Space Gray are available at $449.99, and you won't see this deal price until you reach the checkout screen and an automatic coupon worth $29.01 is applied to your order. Only Amazon has the headphones at this price, and all three colors being marked down are in stock and ready to ship.

Note: You won't see the deal price until checkout.

If you're shopping for other AirPods models, you can also get the AirPods 2 for $99.99 and the AirPods Pro for $179.99. All of these sales are available on Amazon today. We track sales for every model of the AirPods in our Best AirPods Deals guide, so be sure to bookmark that page while you shop around for the wireless headphones.

Yeah… I dunno.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I guess I just do not have the quality ears to justify that quality price — even if it does come with a nifty little bra carrier.

But there is certainly a market, so more strength to them.

Can't do it. Especially if they can't do lossless playback. Just crazy for that cost.
And yes, then there is that…

Oh Jeez critics :D ;) Granted, I'm somewhat of a reformed audiophile, having some "mid-range" audiophile, full blown stereo systems over the years. But, if you look at the price of some higher end wireless headphones, the AirPods Max aren't way out there price wise. Just check out the price of Masters & Dynamics MW75s recently released.

Still I suppose there are not a huge number of people that will want to spend that kind of money on BT headphones. Wired headphones, with an DAC and amp. are usually, always going to sound better than BT. But those combos are generally not inexpensive.

The convenience of wireless, as well as the easy BT connection to Apple products makes these Apple headphones worth it if:

1. You can adjust expectations regarding BT wireless sound quality vs. full blown wired systems.

2. You enjoy the freedom of walking about the house or office not entailed in a wired headphone connection (and getting better sound than inexpensive BT headphones).

Yes, if Apple or someone else can do wireless "lossless" that will be a game changer. In the meantime I do enjoy these Apple headphones. Great for watching movies when not groovin' to the music.

Finally don't be afraid to audition any headphones, from any brand, if you can. Somewhere out there is your "Unicorn" of headphones, at least until something else comes along 😁

I have them.
The possitive points are well known.
The not so positive points for me:
1. Way to pricey for the audio quality of the “speakers”, (not considering Bluetooth bandwidth). Good, but not the best audio in a Bluetooth headphone.
2. Voice calls fidelity is mediocre.
3. Shame that for practical purposes can’t be used in wired mode! (Try to used them in an airplane, a biiiiig hassle and extra money in adapters).
4. Shame that will not support hi-res audio protocol in IPhone 14.
5. Very uncomfortable to be used over 1 or 2 hours straight.

I really want a pair, but the price and the promise to myself not to buy another product that doesn’t use USB C, stop me from putting an order in.

I looked into a bit and considering how much the Max cost, you can get a really decent combo for not much more.

EDIT: was looking up what I came across. DAC and amp by ***** and a Beyerdynamic should easily outperform the Max and would probably cost similar money. Or even an all in 1 by Project would probably do.

I’ve been interested in that same brand of DAC and Amp.
