Amazon has sweetened its deal on Apple's new AirPods Pro 2, now available for $229.99, down from $249.00. This is about $5 higher than the all-time low price we saw last month, making it still a great deal on the just-launched headphones.

Man, why couldn’t Apple release a USB-C variant? I don’t want to buy these now and then have them not work with next year’s iPhone charger.
You don't get a charger with iPhone. And if you mean cable, then there are already USB-C to lightning as well as previous versions of USB to lightning. Not sure what your concern is?

I think the general sense is that now that it seems Apple will have to adopt USB-C for the iPhone and with iPads going USB-C, it feels like Lightning might go away entirely and that buying new products that still use Lightning feels old / outdated / not of the future. My guess.

I know this was on sale for $239.99 and $234.99, but I don't recall ever seeing this for $224.99. So wouldn't that make this $5 lower, not higher, than the all-time low price?

Same price at Costco if you’re a member there. Return policy is better than at Amazon.
Those who want to avoid Amazon also can get a price match at Target and use their Red card to get the 5% savings, making this $218.49.

Alternatively, if you don't have the (free to get) Red card, but have a Discover card, you can use :apple: pay in-store with it to get this quarter's 5% bonus.

Because they need to keep releasing new stuff every year to impress shareholders. All obvious features are systematically trickled out incrementally so you're constantly needing to upgrade.

2023 will be USB-C iphone pro, airpods pro usb-c case, airpods max usb-c refresh with lower price etc

Just get a wireless charger that will charge both.
Will the wireless charger charge my phone at full speed? Will it work for my Switch and my MacBook Air?

The appeal of transitioning to USB-C is largely because people want less cables. I have no desire to get new expensive and proprietary cables which can only charge two of my devices — my main one, slowly.

If you have a Staples near you they'll be on sale starting the 20th for $199. It's an in store deal only and an app only deal. https://www.staplesconnect.com/weeklyad Scroll to the bottom on the link and click black friday sneak peek.

Magsafe charger will charge any wireless QI capable phone out there which is most phones made today. Only difference is the magnets line up magsafe capable devices consistently. Yes it is fast. Full speed? No but fast enough to get a quick bump charge if you ever need it.

I was asking rhetorically. I don’t want to buy expensive chargers with limited use when I could just have one kind which works for most things that I use.

Ok well then any budget wireless charger will also charge an iphone/android device and AirPods. I get what you’re saying but really the AirPods being lightning is a non issue.
