B&H Photo today has a new sale offering the AirPods Pro bundled with AppleCare+ at $229.95. In total, you'd normally pay $278 for this bundle (AirPods Pro at $249 and AppleCare+ at $29), so this is a savings of $48.

AppleCare+ for the AirPods Pro extends your warranty coverage by two years from the purchase date. It includes repair and express replacement to the headphones, battery, and USB charging cable, as well as up to two incidents of accidental damage at $29 each.

This sale will only last this weekend, so be sure to head to B&H Photo soon if you're interested. The retailer is ready to ship the AirPods Pro today, with delivery estimated for next week when choosing free standard shipping to most areas in the United States.

While we've seen a bundle of the AirPods Pro and AppleCare+ down to as low as $218 at Amazon, these bundle sales are rarer than the sales on the AirPods Pro alone, so B&H Photo's sale is still a solid offer. If you just want the AirPods Pro, your best bet right now is still on Amazon, where the Bluetooth headphones are priced at $219.00, down from $249.00.

We track sales for every model of the AirPods in our Best AirPods Deals guide, so be sure to bookmark that page while you shop around for the wireless headphones.

That’s a good deal, but AppleCare may not be so necessary because of their free replacement program. I’ve had to get each AirPod replaced 3 different times, lol.

Macrumors partners with quite a few different various affiliates, but B&H is one of the top to work with. Their customer service is excellent and you can immediately reach someone if you have questions, they ship extremely quick and have proven to be super reliable. If someone looking to save money on the AirPods through a third-party retailer, I wouldn’t look any further than B&H online.

But doesn't Apple care give you peace of
mind after the one year standard warranty is up? I would get it primarily to replace them once the battery capacity starts to go outside of the standard one year warranty.

I think AirPods, Pro or otherwise, even at the relatively high price compared to standard wired buds, are not worth adding AppleCare to. For those of us who use them for work 5 days a week, the annual cost of ownership can be less than $0.25 per hour (using them 4 hours a day, 5 days a week). At this kind of usage and cost, it’s better to simply buy new each year, especially when Apple updates them.

It certainly does help justify getting it, with a deal like this, where you’re getting the Pro version and AppleCare for a price that is already less than MSRP.

How are you going to prove your degraded battery is outside of normal use and have them replace them?

I got AppleCare for mine because it was $29 I believe, but it's not worth it. These things are defective too; I swear everyone I know who owns them has had one of them distort to the point of needing a replacement... myself included.

I don't know all the details regarding AC paired with the AirPods but I've consistently heard that after a year of regular usage the battery life on them is drastically reduced. So I figured at around the 1 1/2 year mark one could bring them in and get them swapped (paying any replacement fee of course). I thought I heard that Apple will swap them out without having to 'prove' any battery life claims. I could be wrong. 🤷🏽‍♂️
