Costco members seems to have better deal. Not sure any of these deals can beat education discount with free Airpods.

That's pretty comparable to the Refurb Store, plus the Costco member discount on AC+. That's a good deal all around.

Nobody cares, it's literally a Chrome and MS Office machine for college kids and your parents. It's not designed for anything more demanding than that. Stop spreading youtube junk opinions

Just using indeed MS Excel calculations and Skype or FaceTime, the new MacBookAir gets searing hot to the point that you cannot hold it on your lap, compared to the previous models...

The Apple powered MacBooks are going to absolutely crush these, I’d wait if at all possible. I bet they’ll even outperform these running through Rosetta.
Do you think Apple will keep prices relatively the same for the Apple Silicon Macs, or do you think they’ll jack up the prices?

That’s the big question! I predict they’ll maintain the pricing pretty much the same.

I figure: if they price them too high, it undermines the entire transition, but they’ll want to recoup their R&D investment, so they can’t just give them away. If they maintain their current pricing, offering far higher performance and battery life, they end up in a nice position eventually. They can make their own processors cheaper than they can buy them from Intel, and they can increase their sales if their new products rock. So even if they start out in the red from all the R&D, they’ll get back in the green before long.

Look, let's be real. Any computing device that hits 90 degrees C on one YouTube tab is designed poorly. I love the look of it, but the 2020 MBA is a chassis designed with Apple silicon in mind that has an Intel processor shittily shoehorned in there. Once I realized that merely using the damn thing kicked up the CPU temps and fan, I had to return it.

I might pay $100 for it. Seems to be the most stupid thing someone can do today is to buy a Intel Mac. They are dead now.

Refurbished MBAs are finally available in Canada since yesterday afternoon.

I got a quad-core/16GB/1TB and saved $375 with taxes
Don't care about the coming ARM transition as I needed something now, not in 12 months.

I only wish Apple would add a heat pipe to MacBook Air. I've been looking to replace my ancient MacBook Air for ages. Come on Apple! I just want a simple, competent, and dependable laptop with easily replaceable batteries. You are almost there with the new MacBook Air, almost! It wasn't this hard to spend money on Apple products when Steve was alive.

I can confirm that on the i5 model, with no other apps open, watching a Youtube video in Safari can trigger the fan, and it was loud. Absolutely ridiculous! The good thing is that it's my friend's laptop, which I was checking out to make a purchasing decision. I'm passing on this one.

I guess I will hold on to my ancient Air for a while longer for the ARM laptops. Please Apple, don't muck it up again.
