In the wake of Prime Day, Amazon is still discounting the M1 MacBook Air to record low prices in both 256GB and 512GB storage options. To start, you can get the 256GB model for $899.99 today on Amazon, down from an original price of $999.00.

As of writing, all colors are in stock and ready to ship from Amazon. The sale has also been applied automatically so you won't need to wait until the checkout screen to see the discount price.

Likewise, the 512GB version of the M1 MacBook Air is seeing a notable discount to $1,099.99, down from $1,249.00. This is a record low price for the notebook, and you'll see this price at the checkout screen once a coupon worth $50 is applied.

After reading a few stories this week.... Its probably priced to move them so they stop having stories about incinerating perfectly good inventory because it sat on the shelf a few days too long

No one buys these baselines . Everyone either gets 16 gb ram or 512 gb ssd or both .
Outside of places like here I'd expect the opposite to be true.

This is a great laptop at a nice discount for anyone who can't get the educational discount. Its really great that when someone in your family asks "what Mac should I buy?" you can now recommend the Air without hesitation.

PSA: The M1 MBA with 512 is not $1099 but actually $1149 on Amazon.

EDIT: Price on Amazon shows $1149 until in the checkout when a $50 discount is applied.

I caved and decided to buy one months ago as I couldn't stand my mid-2012 MacBook Pro anymore, and was poking around the refurbished section of Best Buy online. I was OK with a scratch and dent as knew the support cycle would be shorter and I just wanted something faster than what I had. I found a Satisfactory condition one and was able to snag it before someone else did, I was amazed when I opened it up. Flawless condition, and 2 cycles on the battery. I think it was a floor model or something. The catch was when I tried to set up an account and it kept freezing and locking up, it just wouldn't work. I realized why it was being tossed. I searched and found there was an issue with early firmware that was causing this. The fix was using Apple Configurator and I connected my old Mac to the new Air. The latest firmware was downloaded and installed no problem. I was lucky I had the right USB cable to connect them together. I was able to format and reinstall, things have been great since, no problems. So for a little worry and some internet research, I got my flawless MacBook Air (a base model M1 but still) from Best Buy for... $649!
