Apple's M1 MacBook Air with a 256GB SSD has returned to its all-time low price of $899.99 today on Amazon, down from an original price of $999.00. This sale will be seen after an automatic coupon worth $50 is applied at checkout.

As of writing, only the Gold color option is in stock and ready to ship from Amazon. Silver is delayed by over a month, but Space Gray will be "in stock soon" according to Amazon's stock estimation.

Likewise, the 512GB version of the M1 MacBook Air is seeing a notable discount to $1,099.99, down from $1,249.00. This is a record low price for the notebook, and it's only available at this price in Gold.

Seen an awful lot of these best ever price articles.

Whenever I've paid enough attention they always been for 8G RAM models.

My assumption is that Apple are struggling to sell them and are trying hard to reduce their inventory.

Only Gold color is available immediately. Silver and Grey say JULY. Not that great a deal to wait over a month.

Bottom-
Why so many sales of the MBA? I thought it already sold well?
This is the entry model that is being discounted (8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 7 GPUs). There may be only one M1 production line - any chips with failed GPU or memory might end up here (or in the base iMac, which relatively few people may buy). It could also be that Apple have good chip supplies and a good profit margin compared with the Intel machines, so are just digging a bit deeper into the market

I haven't seen a 16 GB M1 Air or Pro on sale, ever. Which makes the price bump to 16 GB seem even more outrageous.

I ordered mine in November and it arrived late January, but I wanted more memory, more SSD and the extra GPU. The Space gray finish works well

No point reducing prices if you can't make enough of them anyway...
