As HiVolt already mentioned, what Apple sells these for is obnoxious. I wanted a protective case for my Apple Pencil when I didn't need it. Apple wanted €40 for the case! I paid just €15 for a genuine one on eBay. Even 20eur would have been ok, but how they get away with this is unbelievable.

Haha I click the links and get sent to .co.uk where they want an arm and a leg as usual. Thank goodness for third party cases.

Thats probably what they should be worth. I can't believe Apple gets away with selling them for so much.

I'm going to buy one of those Pear phones when the new one comes out. I hear they are worth the money.

Sorry, this is a take off from the trademark infringement thread of last week.

The last time I bought an Apple made accessory for a phone was when I got the battery case for an iPhone that plugged into the bottom and happened to monitor the charge from the connector. It was an OK case, but it was overpriced.

My current configuration leaves me with ready access wot q charging station, and I carry a large battery pack with me that can charge all my gadgets, so a charging case is reduntant for me now...

When I bought my iPhone 11, I spent $39 to get an Apple clear case for it.

A week later, I went back to the store to return the clear case for a refund. The case was hard plastic, showed fingerprints easily, and was as slippery as a bar of soap. It made the phone harder to hold securely and I was constantly worried I was going to drop it. I was really surprised by this; Apple couldn't have made a worse case if they'd tried.

Instead, I paid about $10 for a cheap clear plastic case from Amazon. Been using that one ever since - it's 'grippy', makes the phone easier to hold securely, provides a little bit of protection, and hasn't discolored at all.

While the Apple cases are extremely nice, I never bothered with them even though they literally give them away with deals like this for one reason: No bottom protection.

When I had the iphone 7 I bought an Apple leather case when it was on clearance after having a full protection case on it for a little over a year. About two weeks after using the Apple leather case, I dropped it entirely on the bottom, cracking the phone. If it had bottom protection, wouldn't have been cracked.

My experience with the silicone cases are that the corners start to wear out in a few months from pulling it in and out of my pocket. Not worth it.

I have a leather one for my iphone 11 pro and the other day it fell and shattered. Sucks, anyone recco a good case to prevent against drops?

I'm a repeat buyer (different model of phones) of Speck Presidio Pro cases. I have one on my 11 Pro and have dropped it in the house numerous times with zero harm coming to the phone. These have been a maximum of 3ft drop. My wife dropped her XR with a lesser case from 2.5" and cracked the screen.

I usually have my phone without a case, but use a case on trips (don't want a broken phone during a trip). I can say for 14.99 the leather case is a great buy.

When I buy iPhones (11 Pro Max, 11, XS Max) I pay $2-$5 for cases. That’s it. I get the high quality tempered glass as part of the iPhone purchase, freely off-the-shelve purchases only! $11-$12 for this entry level case is way too much!
