Apple's iPad Air is launching tomorrow, October 23, and pre-orders have been up since last Friday. Even though the new tablet isn't actually out yet, Amazon is already offering a discount: you can pre-order the 64GB Wi-Fi model for $559.00, down from $599.00.

This sale price is only available in the green color, and it could disappear fast so if you're interested be sure to head to Amazon soon. If pre-ordered today, you can lock in the $40 discount price, and the iPad Air will ship once it's released.

The iPad Air was announced last month, and it has an edge-to-edge 10.9-inch display, Touch ID power button, a brand-new A14 Bionic chip, new color options, and more. Ordered one. Thanks for the tip of this special sale price MacRumors!

I look forward to using last years 11" iPad Pro frame with a newer processor, minus camera...but colors!

Bring on the usb c to iPhones!

I want one because I appreciate the technology. But I don’t want one because I can’t really figure out a real use case for me. Between my laptop and my phone, I don’t really see any gaps that a tablet would fill.

That said, these new iPad Airs are just awesome. It’d be nice to have as a toy.

nice iPad, wish it starts at 128GB, since price was increased $100 from last year. I know, it is getting closer to Pro...
Pro for who, though? It seems like iPad devices are only “pro” for point of sale applications and some parts of an artist’s workflow. Otherwise, a real laptop, whether it be Apple or not, is a lot more “pro.”

I meant in terms of specs nearing iPad Pro (not the professionals) :)

And no mention of when it will actually ship until after you pre-order.
same BS the other retailers pull here. They all just say „from 23.10.“
The fact that it’s just the one configuration makes me think it might be that they were over allocated on that model and are trying to burn down inventory levels. Hence maybe a quicker fulfillment.

Discount is only on Green ipad? Wierd
Probably because that’s the one color being least reserved and they want to even out their inventory.

Only $10 more at Costco and you get the Costco return policy plus more choice of colors.
Of course they don’t have space grey or blue, the 2 colors I’d actually like, even for 256GB models, and the rest are all without LTE. Guess I’ll have to be patient and wait for Black Friday sales.

too late. Gone now :)
It's okay. I'm sure there will be the occasional 40-60 off of this model a few months after its release. My 10.5 still works great, honestly it just is starting to feel old.. the bezels, the white spots on the display..

Only thing holding me back is how much I have into my 10.5.. pencil/Smart Keyboard makes it hard to give it up.. its like an extra 300$ worth of accessories.

I got one earlier today, but the price has now GONE UP to the $599 full price. Thanks for the discount (while it lasted) Amazon and Apple!

I'm mildly peeved that there is no FaceID on these.

After all the time spent on X-mojis in their presentations, that is a fun feature that owners of this iPad would've benefitted from.

But Timmy is a revenue-generating genius, so we'll HAVE to spring for the Pro if we want that.

The new TouchID also fragments the experience; I can see a lot of people initially frustrated at the fact that FaceID login doesn't work because they'll keep forgetting that their iPhone has it, but their iPad Airs don't.

Hopefully, Apple will do both (touch and face) in the next round of iPads.
