Amazon today is offering the 512GB M1 MacBook Air for $1,099.99, down from $1,249.00. This is a match of the all-time low price on this model of the 2020 MacBook Air, and it's available in Gold and Silver.

You'll see this sale price reflected on the checkout screen, once an automatic coupon is applied to your order. Only the Gold color is available to ship today, while the Silver option won't be available until around September 21. You can still purchase a Silver MacBook Air today at this discounted price ahead of the delayed shipping date.

The 256GB model is on sale as well, available for $849.99, down from $999.00. All three colors are discounted for this model, but none are in stock today. This is still the lowest price we've ever tracked for the 256GB MacBook Air, so if you're willing to wait a few weeks, it's worth locking in this price while it's available.

You can find even more discounts on other MacBooks by visiting our Best Deals guide for MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. In this guide we track the steepest discounts for the newest MacBook models every week, so be sure to bookmark it and check back often if you're shopping for a new Apple notebook.

With these sales, the base M1 MacBook Air for $849 is becoming one of the best values in tech. I have the 2020 i3 base MBA, and it has been a great laptop for me. I look forward to seeing what Apple does with the MBA in 2022.

I have a question:

does anyone know if the base 256gb MacBook Air is a good work computer that you can keep running 16 hours a day? Or would the Pro be better?

Great prices, but the camera still sucks. If the camera were equivalent or close to the ones on iOS devices, this would be a no brainer.

It's not enough to have the fastest processor in a laptop with the best battery life and cut the price $150 to only $850, it also has to make me look pretty!

The interesting thing about this price cut is it doesn't appear to be trying to reduce inventory for a new version, it seems to be based on declining cost of manufacture. We talk about how fast the M1 is, how power efficient it is, how cool it is, but it's very rarely mentioned that analysts thought Apple would be able to produce it for $60 vs. the slower, hotter, power hungry Intel chips it replaced that cost Apple $200+.

Agreed. An $850 computer than can handle anything the average person is going to throw at it with ease and should last for a very long time (I would say at least 5 years). Bonus points for the new P3 screen. That computer is $850 well spent

Congrats on a great deal. For the last 10 years or so, I have purchased MBA for my kids, my relatives, and myself. It is the go to computer for most of our family needs. My kids used them through middle school, high school and college. We often get 7+ years hard usage (schlepped around campus in backpacks) from these workhorses. Great value!

I am unwilling to buy a small MacBook until I can get a 12 inch body with M1. I dont care if the Air is $500 and or if the new 12 inch is $1500. I tested it all and I know what a perfect mobile laptop is. Its a 2 LB 12 inch body, M1 and thickness doesn't matter. If you can increase the screen size, make it M2 and put 2 USBs in it, it will be the perfect laptop and you don't have to buy another until it dies.

My younger sisters and I are using M1 MBAs. Last month, I also helped my friend order one because her $1200 HP laptop stopped working after 3 or 4 years.
$750 M1 MBA is a good deal

The $750 d

What a steal! I need to get a new MacBook… the Air at $850 is tempting. I wonder if $750 will return at Best Buy or some place else.

Since it won’t be my main work machine, I think I can get away with the 8GB ie entry model of the Air.

Maybe I should just wait until the MacBook Pro announcements that are widely expected later this month to make a decision!

I was waiting for the redesigned 14” MacBook Pro as well. However, after I saw rumors that it would cost around $1800, I decided to get myself the $750 M1 MacBook Air. I am using it as my second machine
