Pricing is getting better. I have wanted one since they came out, but I can’t justify the price. Maybe when 2nd gen comes out I can get a used 1st gen and feel better about the pricing.

despite all the talk about the bigger 2024 redesign, I still remain convinced there will be an interim 2023 "ultra 2" design with whatever same internal improvements the Series 9 gets this year (maybe a faster processor?) and the body will be identical to the current Ultra of course, but they might now offer two Ti color variations, the natural like now plus a Ti Black model.

OMG! That is……still too expensive. 🤣
Seems like a great deal to me considering the titanium Apple Watch Series 7 cost $849 and wasn't ruggedized, had a smaller display, had a dimmer display with worse battery life and no loud speaker and worse GPS and no action button and so on and on...

I don't get the people who complain about the Ultra pricing when it was cheaper than the previous titanium model but with actual upgrades. People just love to complain I guess!

Be careful with buying used apple watches. You probably already saw on MR there are some somewhat convincing fakes out there. One was for sale on FB marketplace recently near me for $350, but it was clearly a fake.

Honestly let’s be real no sane person will ever legitimately need this type of Apple Watch

that’s great people are selling fake AW now 😂😂

LMAO

Bad for them and good for you!!

Congrats on finding that deal.
eBay saves me a fortune, it’s worth looking at the items on sale from good private sellers. Over the last two years of building a rather large Apple armoury I’ve probably saved about $3k on direct from Apple prices. I saved over $1k alone by buying a used M1 Pro 16 inch 16gb 1tb machine that was a month old which is my daily driver for leisure computing.

My brother in law does something similar buying and selling on facebook marketplace. Its all local sales though.

I get it. But when I pay $160 + tax for a brand new AW7 45mm after selling my AW5, I cannot justify paying $700+ for technology that will be substantially inferior in 3 years. Also, the actual display on the Ultra is negligible in increased real estate vs the AW7 45mm. So there’s that too.

Okay, I'll bite despite the hyperbole. Last I checked no one has yet committed me to an asylum, but I love the Ultra that I have had for the last several months. It is by far the best watch I have ever owned. The battery life is terrific and and it fits in very well with my varied workouts, especially those requiring a few hours of GPS on an almost daily basis. Maybe the insane person is the one who spends more than two nanoseconds fretting about how other people spend their money.
