Compared to other retailers, this is the best price currently available online for the 256GB MacBook Air, and it's the lowest price we've seen for the notebook. The 512GB version is also on sale at Adorama for $1,249.00, which represents savings of $50.

Apple refreshed the MacBook Air last month with 10th-generation Intel processors, an updated scissor-switch keyboard, and more. In terms of features, the notebook has a 13-inch Retina display, slim black bezels, a Force Touch trackpad, Thunderbolt 3 ports, and Touch ID.

You can find even more discounts on other MacBooks by visiting our Best Deals guide for MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. In this guide we track the steepest discounts for the newest MacBook models every week, so be sure to bookmark it and check back often if you're shopping for a new Apple notebook.

Update: This article originally highlighted an Amazon deal on the 2020 MacBook Air, which B&H Photo has now beaten.

£948.99 on the .uk amazon store

or

£939.60 on Apple's UK EEP store (if your employer offers it)

I'm tempted, but I've just bought a 2020 2018 MacMini and took advantage of the 2 year 0% offer.

Plus my Apple Watch (series 2) has a nice new crack in it - so i guess that'll be the next purchase!

I don’t know this mac has been burnt in youtube, I used to think it was a no brainer but when I found out the fan isn't connected to the processor, well I don’t think its well built. I know I know there is people who use computers for casual stuff but anyways the fas should always be connected to the heat pipe, if not why put a fan in the first place.

Because that's how Timmy rolls with his fanboy army. Lets wait for the first to defend another Cook flawed design product (or even buy it).

They told everyone to update the processor, then they burn it because of the fan not been able to cool the processor they recommended then a follow up video comes out telling people to get the base i3 model (which most will anyway).

Maybe the updated processors should've included a heat pipe?

It would be perfect if they left a heatpipe. The classic MBAs could perform almost as well as the rMBP13 because they used heatpipes. I guess it would be too close to the pro 13 with the architectural improvements of Ice Lake.

Just saw the different YouTube videos (mentioned here) on the new 2020 MacBook Air, its disgusting that Apple omitted an inexpensive heat pipe to properly cool the CPU.

Gah! Is all this true about the heating and fan issues that are spreading around? I’m trying to figure out what to get my daughter for HS graduation. I thought I finally settled on this, but now I’m hearing about the heat and fan issues.... ugh

Hopping in to see if there is any purchasing advice/feedback for the overheating issue. Is it over-exaggerated? I'm looking to buy the Air for my wife. Most likely use is casual browsing, occasional photo/video editing for leisure, etc.

My mom's laptop a 2009 Intel Core 2 Duo stopped working and she wants a MacBook air.

I told her to wait for the BHphoto to have the new macbook air base with updated Quad Core 1.1 GHZ only for longevity. She uses a laptop mostly for facebook, youtube and browsign the web and maybe the Core i3 is enough, but as new OS Updates comes is every year maybe the quad core can handles future releases better as new features comes in.

BHphoto usually have lower prices and no taxes..

What do you think, is is worthy to wait to upgrade to a Quad Core?

Casual browsing? Occasional editing? The iPad is perfect for that and starts at $329, and doesn't have any overheating issues. And you can always get a Mac later, when the cooling is a bit more sorted (or more well understood), and the iPad will still be useful to have around. Just an idea.

Thanks for the heads up! I ordered a MacBook Air late last week. Got it in the mail from Best Buy yesterday. I saw this and contacted Best Buy. They are price matching Amazon and gonna refund me $50 plus tax.

She adamantly stated that she does not want an iPad. Real keyboard is a must. Local storage is a huge plus too since we'll be storing photos/videos somewhere.

For what it's worth, I have an Air 2 that's still going strong, so yes, I do understand the different value.

My wife just purchased a 2020 MBA from Best Buy last week as her 2012 MBP was on it's last leg. While I set it up for her, I didn't notice any overheating. She purchased it for work so she's mainly going to be using QuickBooks, MS Excel, MS Word, email and web browsing.

She hasn't mentioned any overheating since she got it last Thursday, but then again she wouldn't notice something like that. Especially when she works on laptop from our dining room table.

I would think that your wife would be okay as she's not going to be doing anything too intensive on the MBA. Depending on how much she edits her images, that may be a little more intensive, but I think she would be okay.

I appreciate the reply. Do you mind sharing the specs? I'm trying to weigh whether the RAM and CPU upgrades are worth the $200 jumps. My work laptop for reference is already running i7 and 16GB RAM, so I'm curious if it'd be a noticeable gap. My personal MBP reference is a early 2015 that is still going relatively strong.

I'm gonna get the new Air i5, and limit the turbo so it never runs overly hot or noisy.
There are ways to do this, and also allow some select demanding apps to use full turbo.
But for everyday things turbo is never needed.
Especially not Chrome etc. Even though Chrome sucks all juice it can get, it really doesn't need it.
Reminder: the Air is not a Pro.

Disabling turbo on the Air:
