Starting with the 14-inch MacBook Pro (10-Core M1 Pro, 1TB), this model is available for $1,998.99, down from $2,499.00. Amazon has this notebook in Silver and Space Gray, with an estimated delivery window of May 5 through May 9 for most United States residences.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro (10-Core M1 Pro, 1TB) has hit $2,099.00 on B&H Photo, down from $2,699.00. Additionally, the 16-inch MacBook (10-Core M1 Max, 1TB) is available for $2,699.00 on Amazon, down from $3,499.00. These are both new all-time low prices.

Although we have tracked a few solid markdowns on the newer 2023 MacBook Pro, today's deals on the previous generation models are far steeper and perfect for anyone looking to purchase an Apple notebook and doesn't need the latest model.

Its a flipping good rig, I love my 14" MBP!
Almost bought a 14" MBP M1 Pro 16/512 the other day for $1499 (Best Buy 1 day sale), but I had to keep telling myself to wait and see what the rumored 15" MBA is like first.

If I'm not happy with the 15" MBA rumored to be announced at WWDC, then I'll grab the 14" MBP when it pops up again at $1499

I'm hoping it actually does go back on sale. I found out about the BB deal too late and when I went to buy it, it was out of stock. I'm worried that they cleared the inventory they have and they won't sell it again.

I've owned almost every model of a mac since Tiger at some point - MB, MBP, MBA, MacMini, Mac Pro, iMac etc - this is easily the best Mac I've ever owned, you won't regret it.

I think the 15" MBA will be more expensive and won't have the briljant 120Hz screen of the 14" MBP. The screen is the killer feature for me.

I nearly pulled the trigger the other day on the 2021 MBP 16 Max 32 GB RAM for $2800, but then in comparing benchmarks it looks like the 2023 model, otherwise the same but with the M2 Pro 16GB RAM (vs. Max) had higher benchmarks and was a little cheaper ($2700). I'd have guessed the 2021 Max would still be faster than the 2023 Pro, but that doesn't appear to be the case. But I didn't see much in the way of real-world comparisons.

I think the 15" MBA will be very similar to the current M2 model but with a bigger screen and perhaps extra ports, other than that, not expecting CPU Upgrades inside the 15" MBA.

What are your thoughts on getting the 16" with 16gb ram, 512gb storage, and m1 pro 10-core / 16 core GPU for $1899? Would you wait for the 14" to go on sale again or think the larger screen and slightly faster processor are worth it?

That would depend on what you will be using it for. If you will be using it for processor intensive tasks for your job, then it could be worth it. Otherwise, you're just paying $400 more for a slightly bigger display.

I’m definitely waiting on the 15” Air. I miss the larger display of the 16”, but I have to constantly remind myself that already downgraded to a 14” after I sold my 16” because the 16” was a brick and thus I never used it.

I think Apple may have outsmarted itself with the M silicon design. The nearly 30 month old M1 MBA still performs on par with the M2 MBA, and the same goes for the 14/16 MBP. I picked up a brand new M1 Pro MBP 14 from Adorama (base model - 8c/14c - with 16gb and 1tb ssd) for $1599. Apple's price for the same configured M2 MBA is $1899 (WITHOUT the spectacular 14" mLED screen, all the ports, and dual monitor support). The bas M2 Pro MBP (10c/16c) with 1tb upgrade will set you back $2199.

In all, the M2 generation only gives you a marginal performance delta over the M1 (which was a HUGE leap forward) and causing a model compression problem. No wonder Apple paused production earlier this year.

Apple should replace the 13' MBA with a base MBA 14', it would make more sense to reuse their old units more effectively. maybe with 256 GB and fewer cores to lower the price down to 1299.

I kind of wish I went for the 16", but that's probably because I get bored easily. The 14" is the perfect size for on the go, and I hook it up to 4 x 27" monitors at home, so screen real estate isn't a major issue.

It depends if you're moving around a lot, but I love the 14", not even fussed that it isn't an M2.

13th gen i9 and RTX 4070 is faster than m2 max,
https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-i9-13950hx-vs-apple-m2-max

apple 16inch for 2800 only has 16gb and its soldered.

you brought up the window comparison why you telling you hard passing on something that i didn't even ask 😂
Article literally states how the 16" 16/1TB M1 Pro is $2099

Fair enough on the windows thing, ur right, I was pulling that from nothing.

Was more trying simply state that 16/1TB is actually a common spec, even for premium PC laptops -- regardless. Thanks for the synthetic benchmakr links, but we all know real world usage isnt the same. And things that make a laptop a laptop -- like performance unplugged (where the numbers are *drastically* different on a PC) or battery life, speakers, etc, are all part of the equation.
