A new lowest-ever price has hit the 256GB MacBook Air today on Amazon. You can get this MacBook Air (13-inch, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage) for $999.00, down from $1,299.00 for today only.

At $300 off, this is the lowest we've ever tracked for this model of the MacBook Air, and the best deal you'll find online. Only the Silver color option is on sale, with Space Gray and Gold priced closer to $1,200.

Apple updated the MacBook Air in July 2019 with a True Tone display, updated butterfly keyboard, and a more affordable price tag. MacBook Air also includes Touch ID, 8th generation Intel chips, and slimmer bezels.

Check out the MacBook Air sale on Amazon before the day ends, and head to our full Deals Roundup to shop for even more discounts on Apple products and related accessories.

Update 11:07 AM PST: The deal has now expired.

Exactly - let alone a bad idea for buying a MacBook/* with those crappy butterfly keyboards that will probably break on you within a few years.

Paying that much for that little RAM and storage is bananas.

8GB of RAM is plenty for the needs of the average user.

I got my wife the 2018 version of this exact config. She was nervous about it only having 8GB of RAM too, but she hasn't had a single problem with its performance. The storage was a bit of a pain to get under, but we did it.

Junk keyboards. Stay, far, far away.
Define "junk" keyboards. I have a early '13 MBA 256gb model that's my daily driver. NEVER had a keyboard issue. Is the new MBA keyboards different from my '13 model. I think I'll hightail it down to Best Buy and try out the keyboard. My standard rule for buying ANY computer and I'm going back 30 years) is to check the keyboard first and then the display 2nd.

I’ll consider a deal like this after Apple replaces the keyboard mechanism in new models. I’ll hang on to my 2015 model in the meantime.

Guess I'm too late. NO silver models (the cheapest) available at $$999 (11:00am PST). On the Presidents Day sale, Best Buy buy had one at $999 (256gb model). I don't care that much about color, but silver, gray, gold in that order would work for me. Easter sale coming up???

If you're not wedded to the MBA and just want a 13" Retina laptop, check out this deal for a 2017 13" Apple Certified Refurbished MBP with Apple Warranty.

It's $949. That's over $200 cheaper than the cost for the same item direct out of the Apple Refurb store.

If you really want a MBA specifically, there are 2018 MBA models in the 128GB or 256GB storage configuration in the $800 to $900 range on eBay from actual resellers. I just got a flawless 2018 8GB/256GB MBA with 2 years remaining of AppleCare+ from a brick and mortar store in San Diego for $865.

8 GB of RAM being enough for some people has nothing to do with the fact that the price is still bananas.
