Starting with the 7-core GPU/256GB iMac, this model is available at $1,149.99, down from $1,299.00. This sale is available in the Blue and Pink color options, and it's a new all-time low price for the entry-level M1 iMac on Amazon.

Secondly, the 8-core GPU/256GB iMac is down to $1,349.00 in Orange and Yellow, from $1,499.00. Last month we saw every color of this iMac hit this record low price, so while more colors may return to sale soon, right now your best bet for savings is on these two color options.

Lastly, we're tracking the 8-core GPU/512GB iMac with a price of $1,499.99, down from $1,699.00. This one is only available in Silver and Blue, and it is the steepest discount we've ever tracked on this higher-end model of the 24-inch iMac.

Note: You won't see the deal price until checkout.

Shoppers should note that for the 7-core GPU/256GB (Pink) and 8-core GPU/512GB iMac models, you won't see the deal price until you head to the checkout screen. At that point Amazon will automatically apply a coupon code to the order and bring these iMacs down to their all-time low prices.

With an internal that small I'd just install the OS on it and get a Thunderbolt external drive for everything else. OWC has these cute Envoy SX external drives that are built like tanks. The blades in them have fast read speeds, but writes are about half that. I got the smallest 240GB one since they don't have a 0GB DIY and slapped a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVMe into it and it flies, read and write north of 2500+ MB/s on my 2020 intel iMac.

I agree a 1/4 TB drive in 2022 is absurd, but there was a post this week about a new external drive Sandisk just released that has very affordable and fast external drives. Kind of ruins the asthetic of an imac to have a box sitting there with a dangly cord coming out of it, but it's far cheaper than what Apple would charge you for storage space, if you could even get it.

It's called Sandisk Pro-Blade SSD.
$240 1TB to $660 4TB

But at least your all-in-one computer is less than an inch thick. That's got to count for something, right?

This is a great deal on a entry level iMac with a 4.5k retina display, speakers, webcam, mouse and keyboard. Many people are streaming, using cloud services or have external storage devices so 256GB is fine. It's 8GB of ram may limit its usefulness to pros though.

Interesting that these are in stock, but there is many weeks wait for a 14/16" MBP. Maybe Apple misjudged where the demand would be.

Lack of interest in pastel colours and white bezels? People moving to headless Macs for the desktop? Higher battery life making laptops more interesting? Or merely, finally fixing the absolute mess of the 2016+ MBP/MBA's, thus a sudden rush of people who have been holding out, waiting for an Apple laptop that isn't a dog, and here it finally is?

I'm one of those hold outs who now have an order waiting for delivery, after holding onto my 2015 rMBP. But if I was going to get a desktop, I'd either get a Mini, or wait for the M1 Pro Mini Pro, assuming it is in the works. The puke pastel iMacs are zero chance.

Great machine.
I thought my bottleneck would be the 8GB of memory.

But I quickly understood it was the 256GB of storage even if I have a 2 TB external drive. You can't put all you want on external drives. Memory is in fact no problem and I've been pleasantly surprised because I'm a pretty big power user.
