Today we're tracking the return of an all-time low price on the 256GB M1 MacBook Air, which is available for $749.99 on Amazon, down from $999.00. This deal originally debuted during Prime Day back in July and it remains one of the best MacBook-related discounts of 2023 so far.

You can get the notebook in Gold and Silver at this price, and there's an estimated delivery date of September 27 to September 30 for the MacBook Air. As of writing, the Space Gray model is not matching this record low price.

There are many internal and external differences between the 13.3-inch M1 MacBook Air and the newer 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch M2 MacBook Air models, but as an entry-level computer the M1 device should work great for common tasks, especially at this all-time low pricing. You can read our guide to get a better look at all the similarities and differences between the generations.

That’s a great Mac for a really nice price.

Although, it would be worth it to get the M2 MacBook Air just for the redesign and display, or maybe just MagSafe alone, imo.

Instead of pimping such deals MR should be cautioning its readers not to buy. The affiliate partner remuneration is not worth the loss of integrity.
1) M1 is old now, halfway through a typical life cycle. The prices shown are not cheap enough to justify such old tech.
2) Few folks reading here should ever buy the 8 GB RAM often seen in advertised "bargains."

I wonder how many buy the base configuration. Even though it's more powerful than most of the Intel MacBook Pro models before it, it still needs 16 GB of RAM to be its best.

I bought the most I could because I couldn't change it later.

I've got an M1 Air (16 GB) and it's a fantastic computer. However, I am noticing the battery life becoming considerably worse in just a couple years. That's really my only complaint with it.

I'm sorry to see this. I purchased one of these base models in early 2021 and really loved so much about it, but I was concerned to see my battery capacity dip quickly in the 12 months I had it. I can't recall but I think it was already down to 90% or so. My theory is that the heat generated from sustained loads (gaming, video encoding, etc) transferred to the battery and we all know how excess heat affects battery health. I sold it and purchased a 2021 MacBook Pro base model (financed at 0% over 24 months) and couldn't be happier with the decision. I don't think I'll own a passively cooled laptop again, unless it's intended use is for light tasks only.

Maybe I'm just really fortunate, but my M1 Air (1TB/16GB) purchased in September 2021 still has more than 90 percent of its battery capacity and only 32 charge cycles. I do keep it plugged in all day and rarely use it on battery power only. But when I do use it unplugged, it always lasts a few hours.

I recommend the M1 Air all the time to people. fantastic entry into the Mac computer world, perfectly fine chip and even when the clutching of beads over 8gb of ram, for most business and education applications, it's the perfect fit.

Not much of a deal for Canadians, though. If we also had the same 250$USD rebate, which is about 335$CAD, the final price would be 965$CAD. Or if we start directly with the 750$USD price, it would be around 1000$CAD.

But no. Instead, we only get a rebate of 100$CAD from 1300$CAD, making the entry-level M1 MacBook Air still a really expensive choice at 1200$CAD.

For comparison, you can get the entry-level 13" M2 MacBook Air directly from Apple for 1450$CAD. Either the old M1 MacBook Air is still way overpriced, or Apple simply doesn't care about Canada.

I think this is a telltale sign that the M1 Air is on its way out.

Kind of sad to see actually…
Oh well…

Shame you can only get the binned M1, even if you max it out on RAM and SSD.

Still, that thing is a screamer, nothing really comes close to it for office use, battery goes all day, microphones are fantastic, display is fantastic, no fan noise ever, webcam isn't the best but gets the job done and you can do the iPhone webcam thing if you want the best quality.

It’s had a 3 year run. M1 is a legendary chip. M2 is not quite as impressive and if the A17 is any indication the M3 just won’t have the same performance per watt as the M1. Maybe the M4.

Fantastic little machine. Will be interesting to see what happens when the M3 MBA comes out. Will they keep the M2 version and cut the price to that magical $999 (that often then gets discounted further) or will the drop it? I still think it makes sense to take the M1 MBA form factor, plop in an M2 and call it the MacBook SE and have it at ~$899.
