Amazon and Best Buy today have introduced new sales on the 2019 iPad and iPad Air, including a few lowest-ever prices on the latter tablet. For the iPad, you'll see up to $50 off Wi-Fi models, including both 32GB and 128GB, priced at $279.00 and $395.00 respectively.

The iPad Air has deeper discounts, with $99 off every model this week at Best Buy. These low prices start at $399.99 for the 64GB Wi-Fi model of the 10.5-inch iPad Air, and also include the 256GB model at $549.99. Additionally, Best Buy is discounting the cellular models, starting at $529.99 for 64GB.

Seriously tempted by the Black Friday level prices. But I think I can wait until April 1 to see what might be released; after all I didn't buy 4 months ago.

I think the rumor is that this week is going to mirror last year's March, where Apple released several refreshed products without an event within a single week. If that's the case, yesterday was Powerbeats, and we could see a new iPad this week. This would also be supported by yesterday's rumor of Apple registering a new iPad, as well as accidentally leaking a new iPad model's user manual and quickly taking it down. This also probably explains why we're seeing this sudden deep discount on last year's iPad model.

These are good but not the best deals. I purchased from Best Buy the 10.2 32GB, WI-FI iPad early November for $249 and I know the 128 GB WI-FI was on sale at the same time for $329, and then those prices dropped another $20 for black Friday.

I like Best Buy but the way they treat everyone like they are stealing is a huge turnoff. Still, I buy all my Apple gear there because they are so much closer. They do have good deals on Apple stuff all the time, too.

The iPad Air and the standard iPad are very different devices. The prices you are quoting appear to be for the iPad, not the iPad Air which is what Best Buy has on sale. The iPad Air is a much more powerful device then the standard iPad.

You are correct the iPad Air is a different model than the one I mentioned, however, the article did mention "Amazon and Best Buy today have introduced new sales on the 2019 iPad and iPad Air" I don't remember what the price of the air was in November since I only purchased the standard iPad.

The iPad Air prices, I think, are identical to those during Black Friday weekend.

are they really though? Anyone who wants power is gonna get a pro. anyone who just wants to surf the web, read and check email and play little games would be fine with a regular one. I still don't understand apples Air tier... or why its still called Air when that moniker was solely meant to represent thin and light back when things were bulky but now everything is thin and light

I definitely agree with your question about Apple's naming conventions. They are often times a mystery. As far as the performance comparison between the 2, I was just going off of some reviews I had read a while back as I don't own either of these devices. But honestly if I could pay 25% more now to get a device that is at least 25% faster, I would typically do it just in hopes of getting a little more future-proofing.

Article should be retracted when the devices are no longer -$100 off.
Clicked on several. All full price. Zero discount.
But, will take it as a sign that new models are coming and to avoid MR / Worst Buy sale links.
