Discounts have returned for the new 14-inch MacBook Pro this week on Amazon, starting with the M1 Pro/8‑core CPU/512GB SSD model at $1,799.00, down from $1,999.00. Overall, this is a second-best price on the 512GB 14-inch MacBook Pro and is still a solid deal at $200 off for anyone shopping for the notebook this week.

Both Space Gray and Silver are being discounted to this price, and only Amazon is reaching this low of a price. Additionally, the sale price has been applied automatically and does not require any coupon codes to see the discount.

You can also get the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro/10-core CPU/1TB SSD on sale, priced at $2,249.00, down from $2,499.00. This is a record low price on the 1TB 14-inch MacBook Pro, and it's only available in the Silver color option.

I want one of these so bad but other than the financial side of things I keep going back to this: my base M1 Air is more than enough for what I need it to do. In some ways that probably says something about my material cravings and my simple workflow that doesn't need anything too power. But, I think this is an important point I keep going back to—the base M1 Air is surely the best bang-for-my-buck purchase in 19 years of being a Mac owner.

Welp, my wallet is about to hate me. However, the upgrade will be big for me (2016 rMB to the 14" MBP).

I tested it out in the store a few times and became more impressed each time.

What an amazing time to live in. Hopefully Amazon will be running deals like this in 2025 when I’m ready to upgrade.

Discounts are very welcome on Apple computers, at a time when many camera and computer companies are raising prices due to inflation and/or chip shortages.

Thats a pretty good discount, I would be tempted if my computer needs went beyond my M1 MacBook Air.

Just a reminder that those discounts are exactly the same as what Apple offers in to folks in its Government, its Military & veterans, and its Education stores. If you don’t qualify for those, then this is great. But if you do…

I have a base model 14 and it’s all I need. Works awesome and I never hear any fan noise. Perfect for me!

Is there anyone else who wishes these sales included a model with less disk but more ram? Ugh

Nope, in fact this is the right amount of RAM and storage. Having a lot of RAM on Apple Silicon only seems essential for a small group of users who are in the media creator space. And even for some of them it doesn't make much of a difference. Considering the lack of supported virtualized operating systems (glaring one being Windows) the justification for more RAM for most everyday users is limited. On top of the unique architecture of the silicon itself and Apples operating system integrations make it less likely to outgrow these systems. Of course, if you want to future proof it, that's another question. But remember, Apple holds the key, if they want to drop support for the M1 Pro and Max in 2025, they could easily do that. I hope moving to their native silicon means just like iPhones we will see operating system support that could go near a decade.
