I can see it where you don't want to run your phone's battery down and cellular also gives your iPad GPS. It's more convenient on the 64GB iPads where you are likely using cloud and streaming for more things.

Not bad, but I've never been in a position where I needed mobile data on my iPad. Since I always have my iPhone with me, I use that as a personal hotspot.
A lot of Unlimited cellular plans do not have HotSpot as a feature.

I'm thinking of ditching my 2021 11" Pro for this... turns out that I use the iPad more for consumption than anything else, and this size is much more portable.

Got the fully loaded space gray cellular 256 go for $647 total open box from Best Buy. Got the base one recently but realized no gps in that and I just got T-Mobile home internet and that comes with free 5g iPad internet if you set it up as a business for $50 a month.

Mini 7 needs to have a way better screen and revert the panel orientation.

The jelly sucks on the Mini 6
Yea but once I started using this mini it stopped bothering me cause I don’t read the page as I fast scroll. You kinda get used to it. The mini screens are already the highest resolution iPad screens and go higher than 300 ppi

Something about the Mini 6 screen just sucks - in relative terms

When you go to a store, especially Best Buy with so many devices next to each other, the quality of the Mini 6 panel stands out as literally the worst Apple display you can find in the whole section.

I can't quantify the "why" -- it just honestly seems like a middle range quality panel (at best).

Every other device (phone, watch, laptop -- everything!) in the Best Buy Apple section has a better looking screen for some reason

The mini with cellular makes an amazing “away from home for leisure” device, especially road trips or vacations. Like others mentioned, cellular adds GPS, and it’s fairly easy to buy short term cellular data plans. IME it’s a great alternative to lugging around a laptop or large iPad when perhaps you just want a slightly larger screen for browsing and planning the next day, plus a compact in-plane device for movies & in-car device for fake CarPlay, etc.

This partially the reason I always get the max sized iPhones. It’s enough screen space that I don’t feel the need to lug around an iPad.

Different strokes. I get the smallest phone and the biggest iPad. That way I’m not always lugging a gigantic brick everywhere I go and when I need more screen I have as much as a laptop.

I still have the grandfathered unlimited Att SIM in my iPad Pro and can’t imagine NOT having cellular services on the platform.

Is it just me or has there been a rise in OCD? Everyone complains about “jelly scrolling” which doesn’t impact anyone’s life or how they use the iPad Mini. I’m not trying to read anything while scrolling. I stop scrolling when I need to read. If the animation is janky, it’s still 1000 times faster and better than it would be on an Amazon tablet. Same goes for 120Hz refresh vs 90 or 60Hz. Someone uses an iPad Pro for 15 minutes and now they can never look at a non-Pro/120Hz screen again.

Well, actually, as a pilot who uses portrait orientation -- it does in fact impact how I use it
