Disney today kicked off its own "Disney+ Day" in an effort to promote new content coming to the streaming platform. Headlining the event is a discount to $1.99 for one month of Disney+ for new or returning subscribers.

This sale will be valid through this Sunday, November 14 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Anyone who currently subscribes to Disney+ is ineligible for this offer. Those who do enroll will be charged $1.99 for their first month and then $7.99 for all subsequent months, but you can cancel before that time.

Similarly, we're tracking a few Disney-related sales on OtterBox Symmetry Series iPhone cases at Amazon, offering early Black Friday prices on numerous accessories. Many of the cases are priced at $47.99, down from $59.99, and will launch on Black Friday.

There are three different designs, including one with Mickey and friends around Cinderella Castle, and a two that showcase Walt Disney World's park icons. The designs are in celebration of the resort's 50th anniversary, which began last month.

Apple should buy Disney.
They could have years ago. They could have purchased Netflix too. Now they’re both too expensive and Timmy spent all his cash on stock buybacks. Shareholders would be much better off today if he had the vision and courage to buy one of those companies 6 or 7 years ago when everyone said it was a no-brainer. If he had, ATV+ wouldn’t still be a hobby and dead last in the streaming wars.

I’m gonna watch Bones and Family Guy. Netflix only has a couple of seasons of Family Guy, Disney+ has all of them. But I will definitely cancel this after one month, because I am sick and tired of all the stupid subscription services nowadays.

For $2, why not. I wish there were some horror movies and science fictions similar to, 'Aliens'. I have all the, 'Alien' movies ripped on Plex so something like, 'Breach' (the sci-fi with Bruce Willis). Rewatching, 'The Mandalorian' as partner is into it this time. 'Boba Fett' looks intriguing. Dopesick is five episodes behind hulu - kind of surprised to see this on Disney+ but it does have the underlying moral of don't do drugs.

Signed up yesterday. Glad that I could sign up through Apple, so my subscription is through my AppleID. Makes it much easier to re-up or cancel. Also, iTunes cards are very easy to come by at a discount price. So it ends up being cheaper than $8/mo. Plus Apple gets a fee, which is good for my investment.

I'm enjoying the massive library and it's really hard to know where to start.

Watched 5 episodes of Wandavision and Shang-Chi last night. I figure I'll try to get through all of the Marvel stuff and then jump on Mandalorian.

Exactly. If they had a portfolio everybody knows and uses, it would also be an incentive for other streaming services to integrate with the TV app.

Apple has this grand vision where all content comes together. But Netflix never signed on, HBO already redrew and in international markets the TV app is a ghost town. In my country Prime doesn’t even bother integrating with it.

So yes, lack of a decent streaming strategy does hurt Apple.
